Second Phase of EcoSanRes

EcoSanRes is currently in phase 2, a 5-year programme (2006-2010) financed by Sida that emphasizes pro-poor sustainable sanitation through development of regional nodes, capacity building and knowledge management.

EcoSanRes (ecological sanitation research) phase 1 was an international environment and development programme on ecological sanitation. It had its roots in the pioneering SanRes programme which ran from 1993 to 2002. Sponsored by Sida, managed by Stockholm Environment Institute with a world network of  20 organisations.

 

EcoSanRes phase 1 had three components:

• Outreach:  Promotion, Networking and Dissemination

• Capacity:  Methods Development, Studies and Training

• Pilot Projects:  Asia, Africa and Latin America
